FAQs : One-On-One Anger Coaching

How does your treatment measure up against other treatment methods?

In terms of anger management, there are currently many approaches, almost all of which does not deal with the root cause of the issues. Here, I would name a few for illustration.

The first type, the most common, is teaching or lecturing about the importance of not being angry. This goes into all the philosophies of how anger harms the body, harms people around you, to accept people as they are, etc. This is also to me the most criminal of all the approaches. It is similar to asking a smoker not to smoke because smoking is harmful to the body. All smokers know in the depth of their being that smoking is not good for them, but they still feel a compulsion to do it anyway. The question is how not to be angry. Not surprisingly, these approaches stop short of providing any viable solution. Enough said.

The second type is what I call the distraction methods. Methods under this category include time-outs, deep breathing, counting from 1 to 10, etc. The problem with these approaches is that it is at most a temporary solution. Once the trigger is set off the next time, the anger will set in again. Avoiding the issue is not resolving it permanently.

Both of these approaches do not work because they work on the conscious mind, which is paltry compared to the vast forces of the subconscious mind. Put in another way, when the conscious mind is pitted against the subconscious, the subconscious will ALWAYS win.

If we move away from conscious approaches, we start to enter fields which can start to make some inroads into your issues.

The third type is what I call the spiritual approaches. This includes meditation, affirmations and visualizations. These tend to be time-consuming. I have seen cases of people spending years working on their anger issues this way. If you are lucky, you could incidentally heal what causes your anger, but as it is incidental, it is really a hit-and-miss.

The fourth approaches are subconscious programming and I will rank hypnotherapy and subliminal programming under this approach. Typically, these use suggestions to bypass the conscious mind and works on the subconscious mind. I was trained as a hypnotherapist but found this approach much slower compared to what we are able to offer now. Also, hypnotherapy and subliminal programming tends to create new pathways in the mind without resolving the old pathways that cause the anger. The key here is that we are not adding things, we are actually removing the hurt that cause the anger outbursts.

As a result, I believe that our approach is the easiest, fastest and most effective way to help you defuse your anger.

Why should I consider anger management treatment with you?

Our anger management treatment has the following advantages:

  • EFFECTIVE because it works on the cause of your anger, not the symptoms.
  • FAST. You can feel the difference after the first session.
  • PERMANENT. Whatever improvements gained is permanent.
  • SAFE. Follows a natural approach.

If it is so good, how come I never heard of it before?

Hypnotherapy has been around since the 1950s. Our approach is a combination of techniques that have been around for many years and gaining popularity in Europe and USA. In fact, one of our approaches known as emotional freedom therapy (EFT) (one of many approaches we use) met American Psychological Association Standards as an evidence-based practice. Unfortunately in Asia, we still lag behind Europe and USA in terms of the speed of implementation of useful techniques that can radically change your quality of life.

How did you come into this work?

I had struggled with chronic stress and fatigue since my teenage years. I also had terrible issues with anger, but my anger was mostly directed inwards – towards myself, which eventually created a lot of health problems for me such as chronic insomnia, gastritis, multiple allergies and chronic fatigue syndrome. It was not until I discovered energy psychology 17 years ago did I start feeling stronger emotionally, mentally and physically.

Since then I began to actively do more research and experimentation into this line of therapy. These 17 years have been an amazingly exciting journey for me during which I discovered many cutting-edge mind process technologies that can transform a person with self-defeating mindset to a self-empowered, confident and happy individual in a much shorter time than with conventional methods.

Along this journey of transformation and discovery, I have had the honour of helping many people heal their broken relationships, low self-esteem, unresolved childhood trauma, panic attacks and anger related issues.

What qualifications do you all have?

Please refer to About Us.

Does it work for everyone?

Yes, it does. The mechanism is the same for everyone. However, I want to emphasize that I cannot help someone who does not consciously want change in their lives. Come because you want to, not because your wife or husband demands you to!

There are some people who would have more difficulty. These are people who are overly analytical and find it difficult to access their emotions. For these people, we would change our approach to suit them. Generally, it would take longer for them.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. It depends on how severe your anger is to begin with and where you want to end off with. I would typically say that within 6 sessions, you should be able to get to a place of calm and peace for almost all issues that used to cause you anger.

How fast can I see results?

Generally people are able to experience results within 1 session but for complex cases you may need 3 – 5 sessions.

How long is each coaching session?

Each session is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

What is the investment involved?

Each session is between USD65 per hour ; USD240 for every 4 hour sessions.
